WSW Open Mic
During a WSW Open Mic, members and future members read brief excerpts from their prose and poetry. Others attend just to socialize.  The purpose is to give writers and poets greater experience in presenting to a live, friendly, and receptive audience. Unlike the process at a "slam," there's no judging.

Since its inception in late 2005, the WSW Open Mic has become the most popular event of its kind in the Triad.

OPEN MIC GUIDELINES

(1) Sign-up begins at 6:30 p.m. and ends when sixteen (16) readers have signed up, but not later than 7:00 p.m.

(2) Only members and guests who are present in person may sign up. WSW members will be given priority.

(3) Readings start at 7 p.m.

(4) Readings cannot exceed five (5) minutes including introductory remarks.

(5) We would rather not have to call "time" on anyone, so we recommend strongly that you rehearse your reading to keep it within the five-minute limit.

We invite you to attend and sign up to read, or just enjoy listening with the group, at our next Open Mic:

7 p.m. TUESDAY, July 20, 2010 at Billy Bob's Silver Diner (1650 Hanes Mall Blvd. in Winston-Salem).
